Bike Week

Bike Week is fast approaching and there are many ways for you to get involved. There is a schedule of events and information about Bike Week on the Cityof Toronto's cycling web site www.city.toronto.on.ca/cycling/bikeweek_2001.htm. There are a couple of things that were specifically highlighted at the last TCC meeting on April 23.

The Bike Week planners are looking for volunteers on the day of the 'Humongous Group Ride and All Day Festival at Nathan Philips Square, Monday May 28th .

Starting marshals and valet parking attendants are needed for the Humongous Group Ride and Breakfast on the morning of Monday, May 28th. Please call Jason at 416-392-7592 if you can volunteer at the below starting points or help run the valet parking at Nathan Phillips Square.

Yonge & Lawrence: 7:00 a.m. Bloor & High Park: 7:00 a.m. Danforth & Woodbine: 7:00 a.m. Dundas East & Kingston Rd: 7:00 a.m. Yonge & Bloor: 7:30 a.m.

My understanding is that the valet parking is bicycle valet parking and it involves watching over the bikes of all those who have converged on Nathan Philips Square for the breakfast and festival.

Nathan Phillips Square: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Valet Parking)

You can also get into the spirit of Bike Week and help support City of Toronto cycling programs by purchasing your Bike Week Gear.

For $20 you'll be fully outfitted for Bike Week, with:

a Bike Week T- shirt a water bottle an events listing for the whole week the Toronto cycling map.

There is a downloadable .pdf order form.
