Update to:
Put Cycling on the New Urban Agenda Posted: Nov-28-03

Toronto City Councillors on the Planning and Transportation Committee will get to work on January 8th with their first meeting of 2004. On thier agenda will be a motion from the Toronto Cycling Committee asking them to look for funds to implement the Toronto Bike Plan from the Federal and Provincial governments. You can read the TCC motion at the following link Planning and Transportation Committee Agenda: Item 10. The last council was not able to find the money to fully fund the Bike Plan last year. We have to encourage this council to look at creative means and new sources of money to implement the goal of the Official Plan to reduce car dependance.

You can see more information on this issue in the previous article: Put Cycling on the New Urban Agenda

You can contact the councillors on this committee and encourage them to support improving cycling infrastructure in Toronto and vote in favour of this motion. You can find their contact information by following the links on thier names.
