The new 2005 version of the City of Toronto Cycling Map is now available. It was distributed to the Toronto Cycling Committee Members at their April 18th meeting where City Staff said that is was being sent out to all the public libraries and community centres in Toronto. Just recently I saw copies in my local community centre so you should be able to get yourself a copy now.

The biggest change between this edition and earlier editions is the addition of route numbers to the routes that have been signed over the winter as reported in an earlier article. (Bikeway Network Route Signs.

Toronto Cycling Map 2005
The 2005 Toronto Cycling Map is now available. Look for it at you local public library or community centre.

Using the new bike map and the route signs it will make it easier for residents and visitors to find their way around Toronto on their bicycle. So far the route signs and route numbers are only in the south district of the City. In the fall the city will start the second phase of installing signs. These will be reflected in the 2006 Cycling Map.

Another changes is of course the addition of new bike lanes and routes that have been completed last year.

The new map has not yet been posted to the City of Toronto's Cycling Map web page: www.toronto.ca/cycling/map. It should be posted soon however.
