On Friday August 11th, 2006 the Mayor officially opened the new, but temporary, leg of the Martin Goodman Trail on Queen's Quay by painting a metre of the signature blue and green stripes on the reclaimed roadway. This capped off the work that had been done ln the previous week to create a blke path and pedestian promenade on the two east bound lanes of Queen's Quay. On Saturday August 12th was the offlcial ribbon cutting and inaugural ride along the newly opened path. About 35 cyclists joined the staff from the TWRC and some dignitaries including Olivia Chow, the local Member of Parliament, for the event. The new trail will be open till August 20th so make sure you get out and give it a try and then let the local politicians know you want it to become permanent as soon as possible.

Queen's Quay is open to cyclists as a temporary Martin Goodman Trail is constructed with some grass, flowers and some forward thinking.
